Day 34 - Hampton Court Palace

Hampton Court Palace

Home to King Henry VIII (after he suggested to his friend Cardinal Wolsey that he gift his house), William III and Mary II, and soon to be Matthew I.

A nice day for a palace, a row, and gray clouds
Would you like some tea with that, England?

It's only the beginning.

Base Court

The Roaster - his job is to turn the meat for many hours

King Henry VIII's wine cellar - Top that Z

Fountain Court - an addition designed by Christopher Wren, paid for by William III and Mary II
I wish I would have been a King's neighbor back in my lawn-mowing days

They made very good use of their guns

The Privy Garden

Bowling anyone?

Banquet Hall - notice the wood ceiling made by a "Master" Carpenter

The Mushroom Tree Garden (not the official name)

Stop looking at me Swan!

Proof, I was here.

The Maze

Palace from the Privy Garden

The Pond Garden

They had two pond gardens!

Vine

The Great Vine, not to be confused with the criss cross feet action.
It is the oldest known vine in the world, planted between 1768-1774

It keeps growing

And so do the roots

The wealth just never ends...
