New Blog!

Unfortunately, I have exhausted the amount of pictures I can upload onto this blog.  So instead of deleting pictures or buying space, I maneuvered my way around "the man" and I created another blog.

As usual, sorry for the delay in posts

Inspirations from Kevin Steitz

How Kevin Steitz spends his time enjoying my blog...

Days 38-42: Edinburgh

Trying to get there

King's Cross Station had no trains for 2 hours and their PA system broke

After shoving my way through this crowd, the nice information desk man told me I might have some luck if I got a train to Newcastle, so I went to Newcastle with my backpack and hope

I finally arrived at the Royal Mile after 2 am (hence my picture taking ability at that hour).  The train company paid for a 2 hour taxi ride from Newcastle to Edinburgh.  A nice man, who I later discovered to be a Jesuit, guided me to my hostel.

Show me what ya got Edinburgh

Scottish Parliament

Those designs around the windows are suppose to be drawn back curtains to symbolize government accessibility

The Chamber Room

The architect Enric Miralles meant for the building to arise from the Scottish land rooted beneath Arthur's Seat, so he took twigs and leaves and let them naturally fall on a piece of paper.  That was the beginning his design.
In 1999, after the Scotland Act of 1998 which stated "There shall be a Scottish Parliament," they began construction with a 14 million pound budget.  In 2004 they finished the project spending 414 million pounds and then some.  Oops.
